Why is this important?

Anyone can invest in public markets such as the sharemarket (S&P500, Nasdaq). However, private markets such as venture capital - which includes technology startups - are exclusive and only available to ultra-high net worth investors, financial institutions and funds. It's easy for the rich to get richer; they have access to opportunities that noone else have.
